Summary of the Role

Reporting to the Area Manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Site Superintendent, General Foreman, Project Manager, Estimators and the Construction Manager with managing the day-to-day activities of all aspects of construction including all the paperwork and responsibilities to effectively manage the project, and to assist with other projects as necessary.

 

Our office in Niagara Falls, ON, is looking for a Project Coordinator to support its project site in Toronto, ON, for an anticipated duration of one year. The selected candidate will work out of the Exhibition Station - Toronto site but will have to travel to the Niagara Falls office from time to time. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties using a variety of different systems or procedures.
  • Arrange, participate in, and organize meetings (Teams and in-person), as directed.
  • Maintain filing systems and directories.
  • Perform filing and prepare memos, emails and letters as directed.
  • Use various software applications to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
  • Perform such other and reasonable duties, backup or responsibilities as may be required to effectively support the organization.
  • Mobilize site offices and prepare file set up for site supervisors.
  • Take pictures for progress and for issues that may develop on site.
  • Obtaining safety documentation from the site and file accordingly.
  • Assist with completing Inspection & Test Plans (ITP’s) and other QA requirements.
  • Issue purchase requisitions for sub-trades, equipment and materials as directed.
  • Prepare weekly timesheets for payroll.
  • Track and monitor project changes and costs (and assists with estimating same).
  • Participate in site meetings as required, log inventory of incoming structural steel, and time keeping.
  • Provide and maintain the required documentation for site use with current revision levels.
  • Work from site (downtown Toronto), and occasionally the office in Niagara Falls.
  • Prepares site inventory (tools, equipment and consumables) and coordinates site supplies and purchases.

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, OR construction engineering technology diploma, OR five (5) years of Construction Project Coordination experience.
  • Intermediate level project management or project coordination experience in a structural steel environment.
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Adept in the use of computers and web browsing.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of mathematical formulas and concepts.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Clean driving record, CVOR required along with valid driver’s license.
