Our office in Port Robinson, ON, is looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join our team.
Summary of the Role
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Control Inspector is responsible for implementing, monitoring and ensuring compliance with company quality policies, programs and practices with respect to the various and required codes and standards on company construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine work pieces to determine conformance with specifications and welding requirements.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders for workers.
- Perform NDE, weld Inspection on piping and pressure vessels/piping and components built to ASME/CSA codes.
- Maintain inspection and calibration records.
- Verify dimensions of parts/components using various inspection tools.
- Coordinate activities for fabrication to various ASME BPVC.
- Ensure compliance to various Codes/Standards requirements (i.e. ASME BPVC, B31-Series, CSAB51/B52, CSA N299, ISO 9001, CSA W59).
- Prepare inspection and test plans for fabrication of parts/components.
- Present and expedite solutions to fabrication problems and testing procedures.
- Compile, analyze and present history dockets and history files.
- Participate in ASME or customer certification audits.
Key Requirements, Experience and Skills
- Completion of a diploma and/or certificate in quality/ NDE or welding is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
- Available for shift work and overtime.
- Knowledge of various QA/QC codes is preferred.
