Our Nuclear Services office in Pickering, Darlington, ON, is looking for a QC Inspector (Electrical) to join our team.

 

Summary of the Role

Reporting to the Site Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Control Inspector (Electrical) is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with the Company Quality policies, programs, and practices in respect of the various and required Codes and Standards on Company work projects and fabrications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ITPs for all electrical work and equipment.
  • Review and determine applicable quality standards and procedures for inspection of electrical installations and components.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders for electricians.
  • Perform electrical inspections and tests.
  • Document the results of inspections and tests in a timely and accurate manner in compliance with QA Program Requirements.
  • Maintain M&TE calibration records.
  • Verify electrical configuration of assemblies are in accordance with design requirements using various inspection instruments.
  • Ensure compliance with codes/standards (i.e. Electrical Safety Code, CSA Z299, CSA N286-12, ISO 9001).
  • Establish procedures for testing equipment to code requirements.
  • Present and expedite solutions to installation problems and testing procedures.
  • Prepare and review history dockets, data files & reports.
  • Interface with customer and jurisdictional representatives. 
  • Participate and support ESFL in internal audits and external certification/qualification audits. 

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in quality, engineering or C.E.T, or licensed as an Electrician is required. 
  • Strong foundation of various inspection techniques.
  • Well versed in various QA/QC codes.
  • A minimum of 5 years of QA field experience in a construction and/or nuclear environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Electrical Safety Code.
  • Certified as a Master Electrician is preferred. 
  • Knowledge of and experience with C.S.A. Z299, N286-12, ASME NQA1, ISO 9001.
  • Completely familiar with the development of ITP (Inspection Test Plans) to various codes.
  • Background with inspection and construction operations is required.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal) are required.
