Our Nuclear Services office in Oshawa, ON, is looking for a 3D Model Drafting VR (Virtual Reality) Technician to join our team.

 

Summary of the Role

Reporting to the MTL Manager, the 3D Model Drafting VR (Virtual Reality) Technician is responsible for preparing and delivering complex drawings specific to project documents and requirements using computer aided design (CAD) software. This includes the development of files based on notes, sketches, engineering schematics/drawings, technical guides, vendor information and such other appropriate sources to meet project/product specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a member of the modification team, you will apply drafting and design skills across multiple disciplines (Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil) to facilitate the development of engineered design drawings, and supporting documentation for structures, systems, and components. This will include 2D line work and 3D modeling.
  • Prepare complex new drawings and perform drawing changes consistent with Company recognized procedures and standards.
  • Prepare or modify 3D computer-generated models and provide design recommendations to the engineering team.
  • Assist in the determination of drawing elements i.e., dimensions, tolerances, design, and process parameters.
  • Provide recommendations to Design Engineers.
  • Provide field/as-built documentation support.

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills

  • College Degree or Diploma in a technical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • Completion of the AutoCAD and Revit course.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years professional experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, and 3D software.
  • Proficiency in Revit software.
  • Skilled in creating Architectural 3D rendering and presentation with VR application.
  • Experience in the co-ordination, between Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, and Civil drawings.
  • Experience in the preparation of Architectural and Civil working drawings.
  • Experience in the preparation of operational flow diagrams, for mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Experience in the preparation of as-built drawings, through site verification, in AutoCAD and Revit.
