Our office in Niagara Falls, ON, is looking for a Accounts Payable Invoice Coordinator to support the Accounting department for an anticipated duration of approximately eight months.

Summary of the Role

The Accounts Payable Invoice Coordinator will provide aid primarily to the finance and accounting departments. The successful candidate will be proactive in this role contributing to the efficiency and improvement of data entry and email processing procedures. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility, forward thinking and thrive in a fast-paced, electronic environment while maintaining accuracy and reliability in the work performed.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Extensive use of Abode Acrobat to merge, code, extract, label, and create documents.
  • Data entry of supplier invoices into in-house accounting software.
  • Monitor requests for information, prepare responses, and update team members accordingly.
  • Check and follow up on non-committed POs to be posted.
  • Accurately processes data input and incoming departmental email with minimal errors.
  • Meticulous when entering, matching, sorting, scanning, and filing.
  • Provide accurate and timely information when required.
  • Work in a fast paced and mostly digital environment.
  • Respond quickly, accurately and courteously to customer, employee, and management inquiries.
  • Switchboard/Reception backup.
  • Perform such other duties or responsibilities as may be determined by manager.

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills

  • Post-secondary education is beneficial.
  • Experience in an accounting/finance setting an asset.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook.
  • Capable of thriving in a paperless environment.
  • Numerically inclined with basic accounting knowledge especially as it relates to accounts payable.
  • Demonstrated speed and accuracy of computerized data input, and attention to detail.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • High level of autonomy; can be relied upon to follow work through to completion.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and anticipate the needs of the department.
  • Proven ability to establish relationships within an organization.
