Our Nuclear Services office in Darlington, ON, is looking for a Outage Manager to join our team.

 

Summary of the Role

The Outage Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all outage related activities, ensuring seamless integration of project work occurring within the outage window. This role requires direct nuclear outage experience to effectively act as the primary interface with the Outage Control Centre (OCC), ensuring alignment between project teams, site operations, and client leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates strong commitment to nuclear safety, ensuring full adherence to E.S. Fox Limited safety policies and OHSA requirements.
  • Acts as the primary liaison with the OCC, ensuring timely communication, escalation of issues, and alignment between project teams and client outage representatives.
  • Co-ordinates and consults with designated outage representatives and the OCC to integrate project activities within the outage plan, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborates across teams, responding to outage activities and providing real time updates to key stakeholders.
  • Integrates project scope with outage work windows, and assembles, updates, and maintains project and outage schedules, forecasts, and documentation.
  • Interface with supervision, trades, subcontractors, and project managers to resolve issues.
  • Regularly report out on schedule performance, progress, and risks.
  • conducts site walks to validate progress and readiness.
  • Ensures material, workforce, tools, and equipment are on-site in accordance with phasing and schedules.
  • Understands the contractual agreements of E.S. Fox Limited to ensure conformance to contract specifications.
  • Maintains the integrity of planning data management and change processes, and compliance with E.S. Fox Limited safety policy/procedures, ISO 18001 standards and OHSA requirements.
  • Ensures that environmental aspects within their sphere of responsibility are adhered to pursuant to ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Monitors and enforce quality standards.

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills

  • Community College Technologist/Technician Diploma (C.E.T.) - preferred.
  • Professional certification CCA Gold Seal Program would be an asset.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline would be an asset.
  • Outage experience at a Canadian nuclear reactor
  • 3 - 5 years’ related construction experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management software (MS Project, Primavera etc.).
